Tell me about the time you found out you're going to Vietnam up to the time you left for Vietnam.
From the time I joined the Marine Corp, it was no secret that I would make a tour of duty to Vietnam. It was just a matter of time. After boot-camp and ITR, I got stationed with the 5th Marines upon reporting to duty. After 30 days leave, we shipped out to Hawaii. Reality hit, Orders to Vietnam.
Tell me something about your time in Vietnam.
My time in Vietnam was an Experience in Life. You had to grow up too fast. You became extremely cautious and learned to trust and believe in the people around you. Your Life Depended On It!!
Tell me about your first few days back in the USA
The first few days in the USA were strange to say the least. I had heard stories about what was said and done to the returning Veterans, but didn't experience any of them. Returned 1 week before Thanksgiving in 1966 and had a lot to be thankful for.
Tell me about you today, and how Vietnam has influenced what you do and how you live today..
I'm an easy going guy, enjoy life, family and especially my grandchildren. I'm cautiously optimistic about poeple. Trust Has To Be Earned!
Give me a 1 or 2 liner about anything you want to say.
ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST!!!!!!!
