Tell me about the time you found out you're going to Vietnam up to the time you left for Vietnam.
Well, I always knew I was going, because not being a citizens I had to volunteer, and not only to go in the Marines, also I had to sing a waver requesting to go to Nam, and also to realize the Government of any liability in case I was killed there, my parents could not file any liability charges against the Government. So Knowing I was going, I tried to party as much as I could before I left, and try to enjoy as much, JUST IN CASE.!!!

Tell me something about your time in Vietnam.
Wow, how do you pick one story??, there are so many things that pop into my head, for example Arizona Territory, every time we were there, we made contact with the enemy must everyday, but I will tell you one, that always makes me laugh when I think of it now, but it wasn't that funny then. We were in Arizona, we set a parameter early afternoon, waiting to go on ambushes, and patrols from there, we knew that they were everywhere, we have been getting hit a lot since we've been there, so the word comes around to dig in in case they hit us hard, well everybody was tired from beating the bush, so I started digging a fox hole, nobody helping, they were just laughing and I stop for a break and to see if anybody would help me, and it is about 3 in the afternoon, and (charley) decided to give us a welcome, and the shit hit the fan, automatic fire, B-40 rockets, the works. I run to get in MY FOX HOLE, and it is full, I am in top of 2 or 3 guys that got there before I did, and I can remember hearing the sounds of the rounds, and the RPGs going over my head, and here I am in top halfway out the hole, screaming profanities to this guys, while they were laughing so hard the I had to start laughing with them, and after a small fire fight, we all sat around in a circle laughing, because it was really almost like a comedy routine!!!!!!!!

Tell me about your first few days back in the USA

Well, I landed at Travis Air Force Base, I wanted to go home so bad, that I took a taxi, could not wait for the shuttle, I wish I had!!!, I went rightaway and bought my tickett, I had 45 to wait for my flight, so I sat it the waiting area ready to go, when these antiwar assholes, start spitting at me and outloud calling me a baby killer, well I could not handle it very well, because before you knew it I was fighting, after security broke it up, I was taking into a conference room, and held there until my flight was boarded, and then escorted to the plane, like if I was the one that started it, it was humiliating, but I can assure you that what I went through was worth it , because when they took me away, I could see that about 4 of them were bleeding, 3 guys and one girl, and since they all had long hair, they all looked like males to me, OOPS.!!!!!!!
