"JEWELL`S had no business being in Vietnam, he had only a year or so left in
the marine corps ,and was sent to Vietnam to finish out his time, you
couldn't help but like him, he just had a way about him, its hard to explain,
but when you were with him, you always left with a smile. he died that day in
may, with the others, SSgt Mack ,Blair , Anderson , Ray. he took 3 bullets
across his chest, he died in my arms, all of us died a little that day, I
think of them often, and when I think of Jewels I still smile."
