Dewayne Lang

February 26, 1945 - March 22, 2016

Aumsville - Dewayne, 71, died March 22 in Salem. He was born in Salem and lived all of his life in the Willamette Valley. Dewayne served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an upholsterer for over 50 years, also worked as a plumber and at Safeway doing maintenance. Dewayne married Rita Miller on October 15, 1979 in Reno, NV. He was a member of Willamette Valley Baptist Church in Aumsville and CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association). Dewayne loved riding his Royal Star motorcycle, singing karaoke, camping, being outdoors and playing darts, which he was a champion at. He is survived by his wife: Rita of Aumsville; children: Perry Lang of Salem, Tia (Bobby) Loveless of Salem and Tammy (Rickie) Carter of Lancaster, CA; step-son: Donald Dunigan of Lyons; brother: Fred "Fritz" Lang of Albany; sisters: Rena Whisenhunt and Marty DeGeer both of Eugene, Mert Oakes of North Bend, Violet Klampe of Salem and Wanetah Sadler of Bend; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and his dog, Bubba. Dewayne was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence "Bud" and Harold; and sister, Shirley McNutt. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 4 pm at Hope Point Church 1705 12th St. Salem. Following the service there will be a potluck held.
