Tell me about the time you found out you're going to Vietnam up to the time you left for Vietnam.

I was in the Marines back in 1956. I signed up to go to Nam, I guess at the
time you would say I was crazy and to this day you would still think so, they
sent me to California for a while to get in shape, I was there 6 mo. then I
was sent Portsmouth,
NH Brig for guard duty and this place was packed with Marines and Navy guys
that wanted no part of Nam. I got my orders to go to Nam a short time later
in May. Would you believe because I was 31 at the time they wanted to know if
I still wanted to go?

Tell me something about your time in Vietnam.

When I arrived in Nam they sent me to Da Nang I stayed a few days then they
sent me to Phu Bai and that's when I found D-1-5 which would stay with me
the rest of my time there I met Rap Brown and Lefty now that's a pair to
beat a full house
When we found trouble and the bad guys where shooting at us Brown made sure
I was down, way down. One time we were getting water and some bad guy was
shooting at us I do believe we did the two min. mile in record time Brown
also had to see Doc, something hit his chin
Then that day came July 3 that was also my Anniversary. I do believe I
tripped a trap, all hell broke lose for me I was hit all over my right side
with a grenade
Brown and Lefty with help from Doc got me ready to fly to an Aid station
while we were taking incoming fire Frenchie was also hit with me the poor
grunt just got back from being hit before .
Without Brown,Lefty and Doc I would be on another page of this web site .

Tell me about your first few days back in the USA

I would like to skip this one I do believe we all understand

Tell me about you today, and how Vietnam has influenced what you do and how you live today..

Vietnam killed a lot of good people a lot of young people they were treated
like no man or women should be treated they still walk in shame they were
told there were no good and they believe it. because of Q we just have to
check out the delta 1-5 site to see our Brothers names that helped me a lot
and I thank you Q for this A lot of guys saw stuff no one should see they
were young and grow old in a short time
you keep up the good work, and that part about once a Marine always a Marine
is true.

Give me a 1 or 2 liner about anything you want to say.

Well to you guys Mr Rap Brown and myself also our wifes,'"to keep us out of
harms way" went to lunch after 32 years and we plan to go to the big party
also with Mr.Lefty in Nov. S/F Mac
