ROBERT "BOB" A. REA
Jan. 17, 1948 ~ Aug. 12, 2008- Robert A. Rea, "Bob", age 60, a resident of Battle Ground, WA for the past 22 years, died on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, from a heart attack. Bob was vacationing with his wife, Julie Ann Rea, at his favorite place on earth, Rivers Inlet, Canada, where a few days earlier he caught the biggest salmon of his life-a 65 pound Chinook Salmon! He was born on January 17, 1948 in Portland, OR to the late Harvey and Jean Rea. He graduated from Lincoln High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. In March of 1972 he was united in marriage to Julie Ann Fink of Portland, OR. Bob worked through night school to obtain his Bachelor's Degree from University of Portland in the early 1980's. He worked for FMC/Greenbrier Companies since 1975 before semi-retiring in 2005. His last position held with Greenbrier was VP of Corporate Planning before becoming a consultant. Bob coached baseball at Glenwood Little League for 16 years where he also served on the Little League board. He loved working with children and enjoyed being active in his grandkids lives. His favorite activities included fishing, camping, spending time with his family, and spoiling his grandchildren. "...He loved giving them their "vegetables", otherwise known as candy corn, and sitting down for hot cocoa with his granddaughters. He will be remembered for his hilarious story-telling and kind nature. His loving, generous heart will forever be remembered by those who knew him." Bob is survived by his wife,  his sons and their wives, his daughter and her husband,  seven grandchildren; two brothers; one sister;  also nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Memorial service celebrating Bob Rea's life Sunday, August 25, 2008, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Crowne Plaza in Lake Oswego. A private family celebration will be held immediately afterwards.
