Schumacher, Wayne Leslie 60 04/25/1949 04/13/2010 Born and raised in Portland, Wayne Leslie Schumacher graduated from Benson High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967. He served two tours in Vietnam, during which time he was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Distinguished Flying Cross medal. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Wayne furthered his education at Portland State University and Concordia University where he studied business and health care administration. He went on to become the CEO of Eye Health Partners and, more recently, the CEO of NW Association Management. Wayne was a member of the Sunset H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) Chapter, the American Motorcyclist Association, ABATE of Oregon (A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education) and the Governors Motorcycle Safety Advisory Committee. He was also a lobbyist and president and board chair of the Oregon Health Forum and past president of the Oregon Society of Association Management and Oregon Health Underwriters Association. Wayne will be most remembered for his enthusiasm for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons. Wayne was devoted to caring for others and showed this through his affiliation with many non-profit, charitable organizations. He was also dedicated to eye health care. Wayne passed away April 13, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment and military honors will follow in Willamette National Cemetery.
