Biography Jerry Lee Snow Sr., a resident of Gresham, Oregon, died on July 6, 2011 in Gresham. He was 65 years of age. Jerry was born on July 3, 1946 in Neosho, Missouri and was the son of John and Edna (Strickland) Snow. During his 5th grade year, Jerry moved with his family to Sandy, Oregon where he attended Cottrell Grade School and Sandy High School. On June 12, 1965, Jerry married Mary Anne White in Gresham. He worked as a welder in the Shipyards for a while and on May 25, 1966; he enlisted in the United States Army. He honorably served his country during Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He received an honorable discharge on May 24, 1968 at the rank of Sp5. Upon his return from the military, he resided in Gresham with his family and worked as a welder for his brother’s company; J&J Welding. In 1977 he moved to Estacada and opened Think Snow Firewood, where he and his family produced firewood. He retired in 1992 and moved back to Gresham. J erry was a strong, fun loving man who had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed the dog track, hunting and fishing and muscle cars. His greatest love, however, was his family. He was their teacher, their protector and their friend. He served as a true role model for his children and helped to mold them into the strong, respectful people they are today. His family was his life and his world revolved around them and for that, he will be dearly missed. Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Snow of Gresham, children; Ann Marie Snow-Fullerton, Jerry Lee (wife, Christin) Snow Jr., Marion C. (husband, Thomas) Snow-Kretschmann, Jack A.( wife, Jessica) Snow, Susan R. Snow and Thomas A Snow, brothers, Frank D. (wife, Sandra) Snow and sisters, Sandra J. Snow, Viola M. (husband, Stephen) Snow-Backus and Rita L. White along with 7 grandchildren, Trisha Fullerton, McKenzie Fullerton, Richelle Fullerton, Shelby Snow, Brandon Snow, Brayden Magnan-Snow, and Brodey Magnan-Snow. His parents and his brother John precede him in death. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Contributions may be made in memory of Jerry to Operation Home Front. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. |
