Casimir Phillip "Casey" Snowadski December 13, 1934 - January 14, 2015 Casimir Phillip "Casey" Snowadski, 80 of Portland OR, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born on December 13, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Casimir John and Mercedes (Long) Snowadski. He attended Bunnell High School in Bunnell, Florida. He was a career Air Force man, enlisting in 1953 at Camden Academy in Camden, South Carolina. Casey married NaLane Walker in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1955 and they later divorced. Casey had ten years' experience in supervising, maintaining and operating electric power generating plants in the U.S., South Vietnam, Taiwan and Japan and also supervised Vietnamese and Japanese nationals. He managed power plants with Chinese or Japanese equipment as integral part of electrical, fuel, oil and water systems. Casey was the only member of the Vandenberg AFB high power rifle team to win a major award at the 1960 National Rifle matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. Sharpshooter Snowadski fired a near perfect 99 of 100 with four "V's" to capture first place in the Marine Corps Cup match. Casey continued his service as an electrical power production technician and diesel plant operator until his retirement on January 31, 1973 as a Technical Sergeant. Casey was a member of the National Geographic Society. Casey is survived by his daughters Wanda Mehl (Kevin) of Troutdale OR and Lana Vogel of Watford City ND; brother Bob Snowadski (Loretta) of Fairview OR; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Casey was preceded in death by his daughter Felicia Eaton in April of 2014. Private Interment with Military Honors were held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. |
