 Mr. McMichael served our nation in Vietnam. Spanky was instrumental in the construction of the Afghan-Iraqi Freedom Memorial in Salem. It was the first such Memorial in the U.S. dedicated to those lost in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marines from 1964 to 1968 and was a Vietnam veteran, he was an avid Aviator with EAA chapter 292, he enjoyed fishing and belong to two local fishing clubs. He was a retired member of UA Local 290. His most proudest project was designing and building the Afghan-Iraqi memorial, Bill also enjoyed gardening and achieved his Master Gardner certificate in 2010. He bought his Harley and joined the Patriot Guard attending the funerals of our fallen military members.

A memorial will be held Sunday 4/7/2013 at the Afghan-Iraqi memorial at 11am. The American Legion Post #10 will present the colors and play the Bagpipes. Military burial will follow at the Restlawn cemetery.

The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bills name to the Ronald McDonald House or American Legion post #10.
