 Gunny was a 20 year Marine Corps Veteran with 3 tours in Vietnam as a Tank Commander. In his 20 years of service to our great country, he received the following awards: National Defense Service Award, Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), Vietnam Service Medal (w/2 devices), Southeast Asia Service Medal (w/2 devices), Navy Commendation Medal w/ Combat V, Purple Heart (two awards), Bronze Star w/ Combat V, Rifle Expert Badge, and Pistol Expert Badge.

Additionally, Gunny continued his service to his fellow veterans by serving as a Washington State PGR Ride Captain, District Captain, and HOTH Director as well as XO/Chapter Road Captain for CVMA chapter 11-4.

Gunny is survived by his wife, Donna, affectionately known as "The Little General", and several grown children and grandchildren (one of whom has transferred from service in the Navy to serving in the Marine Corps to follow in her Grandfather's footsteps).

"Gunz", as many of his close friends know him best by, will be missed by many fellow veterans and friends. Rest well Marine, your watch has ended, mission accomplished and job WELL DONE!!!
